Modern Cinemtography lecture at New York College

Accepting the kind invitation from New York College's to present the attributes of modern Cinematography to the students of the Film & TV Studies program we devised a lecture in order to bring these points to light.

The presentation was divided into two parts.

Part one described the different types of production, their similarities and differences what importance these aspects hold in the dilemma of film versus digital. How, when and why is the decision made and of course investigating all the attributes.

Part two of the lecture involved the evolution of motion picture capture until today resulting in the ARRI Alexa family. The different aspects of production, the relevance of work flow and the ultimate filmmaker's goal were presented. Once again going through the differences between film and digital in relevance to the desired outcome of the production, the lecture came to a close by presenting the importance of each element of production and how all these aspects are fused into the final product.

With videos and visual aids to demonstrate the points raised and with the students asking a series of questions the 3 hour lecture ended with applause and a promise to re-schedule such events in the near future.
